North Norfolk (roughly 30 minutes drive Northwards).
For shopping and lunching, you won't go far wrong with the shamelessly posh Burnham Market and lovely Wells-next-the-Sea.
Stately homes don't come much grander than Holkham Hall. Adjacent to the estate, you'll discover Holkham Beach. Featured in the closing scenes of 'Shakespeare in Love', it is breathtaking in its unspoilt beauty.
Other places worth a look include Little Walsingham (famed for its Shrine), Holt (lovely Georgian market town), Blakeney (with seal trips out to Blakeney Point), Burnham Thorpe (birthplace of Lord Nelson) and Cley-next-the-Sea (located in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
